TiD Cheer!

Greg here...

So, every night at about 10 pm, Dad takes his chemo pill. After he takes it, all of us get together, put our hands in, and do a cheer. Everyone says their own thing, Lexi says "Whack cancer's big fat booty!" Dad says, "Kick cancer's butt!" Mom says something like, "Kick cancer's bumity bum!"  Whitney isn't ... ummm... as edgy. Hers is usually something along the lines of "Please leave my dad alone cancer!"  and Chris will drop something like "Kick cancer's swass!". But if we are being honest, I prefer my cheer over them all. I say"Kick cancer's ass!!" Yea, talk about edgy. I've been saying it the whole time, but even last night mom looked at me with surprise/concern-for-my-salvation in her eyes. (jk I think she totally loves that I say it..)

Well, Dad has 8 days left of radiation and 7 only left with chemo. He and I work together and so I get a lot of questions from people asking me how he is doing and I am soo happy to tell them how awesome he has handled his treatments. It has been such a blessing for Lexi and I to live back at home with my parents because I have been able to see my dad's progress and see how he is doing. After he is done with his medication at night, we all sit in there and talk. I "nuzzle"(shove my nose into his side and neck) him, tickle his feet and just get to tease and mess around with him. My dad is amazing. He is the strongest person I know. He is the exception to the rule. He is an Ironman. He is my hero.
