Kris and Dean

So I wanted to get some pictures of Dean and Kris before he starts his radiation treatment. As soon as Dean got home from the hospital I wanted to ask Kris...and I was trying to wait for the "right time" but my patience got the best of me and I basically told her we were doing pictures :)
I thought a lot about these pictures. I was really nervous. I wanted so badly to have these pictures express everything Dean and Kris are. But how could I possibly tell their life stories and love for each other just through this one photo shoot? I wanted to capture their amazing relationship, that we are all constantly looking to for an example on how to be the best companion we can.  After a lot of prayer, I finally felt ready. I wasn't really sure what I was going to do. I know that Heavenly Father was helping me. At the end of the night I remember thinking...wow I was really being directed by the spirit. I can't remember anything my hands were doing as I was exposing, I don't remember focusing...nothing. All I remember is feeling so happy to be able to witness Kris and Dean smile at each other.
I have learned so much from Dean and Kris. I love watching how caring Kris is for Dean...even before this. I liked knowing they would write notes back and forth to each other. She did so many little things to keep their relationship growing.
I like watching how Dean can take charge and keep the house in order when Kris needs to get things done. I loved learning that while they were busy raising all the young kids Dean did the grocery shopping for Kris. And he still does... well the Costco trips. Which I would turn over to Jeff any day. Or how I would always catch him hugging her or embarrassing her...in a sweet way.
They are everything you would want as in-laws, parents and examples. They live their covenants and strive to grow closer to the Savior together. It is beautiful to watch.

So this patch picture is because Dean sees double ever once and awhile. Its because the optic nerves were moved down because of the swelling. The doctors said it will get better but in the mean time sometimes its easier to just look like a pirate and see better. Arrr...matey.

Man, seriously Kim, these are SO amazing! I can't get over it. Work has been VERY slow this morning and so I spent time reading survival stories and then looking at these pictures while I waited for phone calls. Inspiring. The stories were awesome but then to look at the pictures and think about what MY Dad will do in his fight against GBM...well, let's just say I think GBM is going to be sorry it ever messed with him/us!
